Document in Word is "frozen"

Just one of my word documents is frozen. The left hand
side of the screen reads "Document Recovery". Saying that
word had recovered th following files. Save the ones you
wish to keep. When I close out the file is reads that the
program is not responding. When I cancel nothing happens
and the problem persists.

Thanks,

Hi Bruce:

OK, the file in question is seriously damaged and has exceeded Word's
ability to recover it.

Open Word, close the Receovered files until you have no files open.

Then use File>Open from Word's menu bar to open the damaged document, and
THIS TIME change "Files of Type" to 'Recover Text From Any File'.

You will get the text back, less any that is so badly damaged that it cannot
be read at all. Save the result under a new name and re-apply all the
formatting.

Nnext, make sure you use File>Openm again to open a different document
(doesn't matter which one) and this time remember to set the "Files of Type"
back to what you had before. Otherwise the Recover setting will stick and
you will strip the formatting from every document you open!

Hope this helps
