Document locked for editing by another user

when I am trying to open Word Document (2000) the following error message
appears:
The document file name is locked for editing by another user. To open a
read-only copy of his document, click...
The strange things are:
1.The file is not shared and.
2. The message states that another user is openning the document and the
user name is clear in the content of the message but there is no one opening
the document over the network at that time (the user is network administrator)
3. The contents of the file can be seen behind the error message.
4. The message disappered without any intervention.
Please if you have any reason behind that.

My guess would the 'network administrator' using the file is probably the
Anti Virus software. Get your network administrator to check out the AV
settings on the server.

Thank you for your response, May be you are right, but why this administrator
user name while there is many network administrators?

You mean it doesn't actually report Administrator but someone who happens to
have Administrative rights?

yes it reports some one who has an administrative rights, someone who provide
advice to users, as well as for day-to-day administration, maintenance, and
support of computer systems and networks. he uses his user name to log into
the network and he has an adminstrative rights.

This sounds a really weird server admin problem. Let me think about this and
try to sort out the (il)logic of this...
