Have tried several solutions in this forum to no avail.
After using Word 2003 for years, clicked in the toolbar to open the document
map--and ever since, it opens everytime i open word or open or create a new
document. I tried the suggestions in this post: saving normal.dot with the
document map closed; i've used the normal file many times to set defaults
but in this case it had no effect--every file still opens with the document
map visible.
I also tried the suggesion in another post in this forum about creating a
macro that would always force Word to open the document map--but in my case
set the arguments fActiveWindow.DocumentMap = False
ActiveWindow.DocumentMap = False
This also didn't work.
Finally, i deleted normal.dot, thinking things would go back to a default
setting but the document map continued to appear when documents were opened
or created.
What else can i try? Could something have been set in the registry? Would
reinstalling Word solve this?
