Document map improvements

I find the document map feature in Word very limited. Is there any Word VBA
app where a treeview is used to display the headings, table captions, figure
captions, and other structured information of a document?
Such a tool would come in handy to navigate the document, insert/delete
headings from the headings view, etc.
I use MS Word 2003

This sounds suspiciously like what you want is "Outline" view, it does
exactly what you want, if the styles are in line with what Word's expecting
of course...

Horrible to actually type with though, but you can use it for navigation...
