Document Map in Word 2007

I have found a Document Map problem that did not occur in Word 2002. In Word
2007 the map display is not generated beyond a section break formatted with
an outline level above Body Text.

(Applying a higher outline level to section breaks is useful because it
makes them display in an Outline View restricted to that level.)

I can supply sample documents that demonstrate this problem.

A lower-level issue is that if the map does not fill the Document Map pane,
when the pane is resized the unfilled area is not refreshed correctly.

I'm not sure I follow what you are referring to. If I format a section break
using a Heading style it appears as a blank line in the Document Map. Can
you please provide some additional details, such as steps to reproduce what
you are describing?

I get the same as you when I start a new document. However with my existing
documents (originally created in Word 2000) the map display stops at the
first formatted break.

I guess if this is not a common problem I'll just live with it, and set a
suitable outline level for my section break style when I need to see breaks
in outline view.

Of course the refresh issue is a side-effect of the display problem.

I am getting a similar problem to dimwight. Document map shows the headings
up to the section break, but after that it creates graphical errors (images
of other pieces of documents, browser windows that are open, graphical
repetitions of the last item in the document map list etc...) inside the
document map window.

Moving the slider on the bottom of the doc map window will clear up the
graphics junk, but the same issue occurs.
