Document name or path is not Valid

Help!! My Document for work will not open. the Error message reads,
"Document name or path is not Valid." Then it tells me to try these
sugestions, "Check the file permission for the document or drive," and, "use
the file open dialog box to locate the document." It's saved on a network.
