Document properties used across multiple documents

Hi,

I have been asked to create a set of starting documents (probably about 20
documents in the set) that can be configured and used at the start of a
project.

I need to have information entered in one document and then be able to
accesss this information to poulate headers/footers and fields throughout the
set of documents.

I thought about creating custom document properties for the first document
with a vba form so that they can be updated easily without having to navigate
through the word menus. I am not sure how to then get these properties
accessible in other documents.

I do not want to use Master documents.

We are using Word 2007 but should remain compatible with Word 2003. The
people using these documents are not expert word users so it needs to be
foolproof and simple.

Any ideas?

On the face of it IncludeText fields from bookmarked items in the source
document should fill the requirement of a document to contain the repeatable
data, but the terms 'simple' and 'foolproof' do not rest easily with it. You
could perhaps make it so by saving the relevant includetext fields
pre-configured as autotext/autocorrect entries. It would however be all to
easy when updating the source document to delete the bookmarks and render it
all inoperable so maybe more than one source document would be advisable if
you are letting inexperienced users loose on that source document?
