Document Protection Problem

Chris L. Park

Hello, I did not know which ng to post this to so here it goes.

Is there a way to create a document, set it to read-only, not allow anybody
to make changes to it, but to let them read it. If changes are made is there
a way to prevent the deletion of the original document and rename of the new
bogus document.

TIA

With versions of Word before 2003, not really. With Word
2003 Professional, you can apply Document Rights
management, and restrict what people do with it.
Alternatively, you can convert it to Acrobat and apply
security settings there.

Of course, there's always the possibiity that to create a
bogus document, one can just type it out again.
