I run Windows 2000 Professional and use Office 2000
Professional. I recently installed service pack 4 for
Windows 2000. Any time I open Word I get a message that
tells me that this document can not be registered or linked
etc. I never used to get this message, why do I get it
now? What does it really mean for the documents in
question? It happens every time I open Word. I clear the
errors and then I can do what I want but I don't know if I
now have a copy saved of a document that cannot be used for
some things. At this point Word is most of what I use in
Office. I did open an Excel job the other day and got the
same kind of message. Also, and maybe unrelated is the the
Office Assistant is no longer available. It asks if I want
to re-install it and when I tell it yes nothing happens.
Rebooting my system changes nothing.
Any Ideas???
