If I am using Word for Mac 2008, how do I share documents with people using Office 2007 and others using older versions of Word? I don't have to send it in both formats, do I?

Unless you need the fancy features added in 2008 for easiest transfer to
anyone would be save in .doc format and then zip the file before sending
That way Mac and PC users alike can unzip the files and read the documents.

If it's "fixed", don't "break it"!

Anyone using Office 2007 should have no problem with the .docx format. Those
using 2000-2003 should have no problem either if they've kept their software
updated. Those versions have been supplied with OXML Converters as have
Office X & 200 on the Mac.

Keep in mind, however, that there are also other factors to take into
consideration for cross-platform documents, such as fonts, printer drivers,
macros, graphics, etc.
