Document size change

I am perplexed by a problem I am experiencing in Word
today, and I'm hoping
someone can help. I have a document that I created
several weeks ago, and I
have been updating the document weekly. Yesterday, when
I was working on
the document, I noticed the size was 1.09 MB. Today, the
size of the
document has jumped to 15.6 MB, and the only changes I
made today were text
changes. The document was created based on a calendar
template. There are
no images, no text boxes, no "fancy items" included in
the calendar. I do
have color, and I have applied style changes.

I have run the Detect and Repair wizard on my computer
for Word. I have run
the anti-virus program on the document. I just can't
figure out why the
size has increased fifteen times. Yesterday, I worked on
the file in Word
XP; today in Word 2000. Could that have made the
difference? Is there
anything I can do to reduce the file size?
