Document used by another user

Hi

I move files between my office and home computers via a Zip Disk.

When I open a word file on the Zip Disk, I get the following message:

"\path\filename.doc is being used by another user. Do you want to make a
copy?"

No one else is using the files at the time I open them.

I get this message on both my office and home computers (Both are runniung
Windows XP - Home Edition). Interestingly, I don't get this message on a
computer that runs Windows 98.

This problem only seems to occur with Word documents.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

I just started using Windows Briefcase for working on files at home and the
office. It is a great way of keeping track of changes.

You can keep a copy of briefcase on your zip disk and work on the files
inside Briefcase at either place. When you are at the office you can
"update" your files so that changes you've made inside Briefcase are
reflected in your files stored on your office hard drive.

This doesn't 'splain why you're having a problem but it's a very easy
workaround.
