Document view type

Word open a document with the view type it was last viewed. That is, if you
read a document in print layout view, the next time you will open it, it will
be opened in the same view. Which document property save this?

When opening a word document in not visible mode and saving the document,
the next time the document is opened, it is opened in normal view, even if
the document was before viewed in print layout view.
How can I cause the document to be opened the next time in its original view?

Which version of Word and file format are you using?

As far as I know, in WordProcessingML (Word 2003 XML file format) this is
written to an accessible "property" (XML element). And in Word 2007 it should
also be accessible, via the OpenXML file format.

But if you're opening a proprietary, binary file format document in a not
visible application, then closing it, I don't think you have any way of
influencing this.
