Document was erased

I opened link off the internet which gave me the original document. I then
added to it and constantly clicked the save button. Then today, 11/11, when I
opened word to open the document, it wasn't there. I need to know if anyone
knows a way to get it back. I think I saved it in compatibility mode so now
it's not opening

My guess is that it's at the bottom of the File menu but not opening because
it was saved to a temp folder and therefore never really saved.
