Document will not open!

Every time I try to open a document by going to file and open; it will not
open any document that I want. It will close the document and then start
Word back again. I don't know what to do but the only way I can open a
document right now is to go to my Computer and go to whatever drive and open
it that way. If any suggestion I would appreciate it very much.

This sounds like corruption either in the registry, or in normal.dot. Take a
look here for troubleshooting steps:
