Document window size in word

Word version X on System Version: Mac OS X 10.3.5 (7M34)

I am trying to increase the document window size in word (not the page
size within the windoww, but the window itself). When I drag on the
lower right hand corner to increase the window size, the window does
not increase in size. I am new to Macs, and am wondering whether there
is a default setting which I need to change?

Thanks
Anna

Hi Anna:

Word remembers the size of the window in each document.

To change the setting for new documents:

1) close all documents
2) Open your Normal Template
3) Change the Zoom size and Window size for both Normal and Page Layout
views.
4) Type a single character and delete it (to tell Word the template has
been "changed" and now needs to be saved).
5) Save the template
6) Quit Word

Since you are new to Macs you may not be aware that the Red button does not
exit the application, it simply closes the document. This means Word has
not saved its settings.

That would not matter, except in this case you adjust your view settings
when Word starts. You then open several documents with different settings.
Unless you follow the procedure above, Word will save the settings from the
last document you opened, not the first.

Cheers

On the PC, Word remembers its Initial Startup Size in the Registry.
