Documentation questions (text vs. electronic)

Hello All,

I'm trying to find out some specific information about documentation for Office 2003 (single-user edition).

1) Do any text-based documents come with the product (eg: User Guide, Primer, etc)? If so, how many pages in each?

2) Do any electronic documents come with the product itself (eg: html-based, PDFs, etc)

3) Is an internet connection required to access program-based help? In other words, is help installed on the user's system or does Microsoft require an internet connection to their site?

4) Finally, does the product ship with any tutorials?

Many, many thanks for any specific information!

None of consequence.

Extensive Help

Not required. If enabled (by user) and network connected, also will
search Microsoft Knowledge BAse
4) Finally, does the product ship with any tutorials?
Better achieve by looking at Microsoft Press or 3rd party books or products.

See http://office.microsoft.com/training/default.aspx?CTT=98

Thanks Rob i appreciate your help on this, and please I mean no disrespect for this follow-up:

You mention no print texts of any consequence -- do you happen to know which texts of little consequence are included?

Thanks again,
Steve

Things about support contacts, End User License Agreement (which *is*
important), etc.

1) Do any text-based documents come with the product (eg: User Guide,
Primer, etc)? If so, how many pages in each?

Not really. Some of the products (e.g Frontpage) have small quickstart
guides.
2) Do any electronic documents come with the product itself (eg:
html-based, PDFs, etc)

Many megabytes of HTML Help files.
3) Is an internet connection required to access program-based help? In
other words, is help installed on the user's system or does Microsoft
require an internet connection to their site?

Internet connection not required; using an internet connection gets you
updated help, 140000 pieces of clip art, thousands of templates, and online
training courses.
4) Finally, does the product ship with any tutorials?

Office2003 training is on the http://office.microsoft.com/training website.
Some of the apps (e.g. OneNote) have a short little walkthrough on the CD.
