Documents are being erased by 2's when opened

When I open a word document up, the entire document is over written by 2's.
What is the deal and how do I stop it?

I run AVG... This is on a clients computer and it just keeps over riding
anything that was in the previously written document that was just opened
into 2's. Before that is was the monitor display flipped upside down. That
one was fun to fix... this one is proving more of a challenge.

It almost sounds like you've got a prankster in the building. I don't know
that turning the monitor display upside down and overwriting a Word doc with
2s are normal malware activities - I would think more along the lines of
overwriting registries, stealing passwords, or deleting files.
