Documents are in code

I can not fiquire how to get my documents out of this code they are in. On
my main computer they are in code I can not read them. How do I get them to
english?

Hello Darlene,

You've landed in a discussion group for users of Mac versions of Word and I
suspect you are using a PC (most people who come accidentally via
discussions.microsoft.com seem to be). Mac versions differ variously from PC
versions. Although several people here use both PCs and Macs and may know
the answer, it's likely that more people in a PC group have experienced your

Whether you are on a Mac or a PC, however, you need to give full details of
your problem (describe *exactly* what is happening, since the volunteer
helpers can only go on what you tell them). The information you have
provided does not allow people to even start to help. Mention the exact Word
version and the latest update you have applied, and ditto for your operating
system updates.

Additional to Clive's reply, they'll also need to know whether these are
"home-grown" documents or whether they originated from another source -- and
if so, what that source is. Is it one specific document or all, including
any new ones you create.

It would also help if you'd indicate more explicitly what this "code" looks
like. There could be any of several causes & that will help identify which.
