Documents, Issues & Risks

If a project is deleted, are the documents, issues and risks deleted also or
is there a way of retaining/retrieving them? A project was inadvertantly
deleted that had all three object types in Share Point and it would be
extremely useful if they articles could be salvaged.

When you delete a project from the open dialog box - the sub site is not
deleted anyway ... it remains quietly in the background

When you delete a project from "Clean Up Project Server Database" in Project
Web Access admin - you are given the option to delete or retain the site
which includes all of your documentation - see the tick box next to the list
of projects

The trick is to remember the site URL

The default format for the URL is <servername>\sites\projectserver_1**

Rick:

If the site was inadvertently deleted, you should be able to recover it from
a backup.

Addendum: we didn't delete the site; just the project. IS there a quick way
of finding the site?

You may be able to do this by elimination!

1.. Click Start à Run, then type cmd.
2.. Type CD c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server
extensions\60\BIN
3.. Type STSADM -o enumsites -url http://<Server>/projects >
c:\projectbackupsites.txt
This file will give you all the sites in WSS. If you compare this to the
list in http://<Server>/projectserver/Admin/ManageSTS.asp you should be able
to work out which site is the old one you have deleted, then just type in
the URL

Alternatively, you may find that you have it in your IE history, and be able
to just click to it??

Hope this helps
