Documents Minimize Spontaneously

I am running Office 2000 under Win98.

I often open 15 - 20 tasks (I just checked my taskbar) at once. Just
now it is mostly Mozilla and Word, a couple of Irfanview images, a copy
of Notepad, and a file folder display.

I have begun noticing a new problem this past week. When I have 5 - 10
documents open and I want to return to one I've recently worked on, I
find that the document is minimized (just a blue bar.) I find it
disconcerting because the minimized document is sometimes hard to pick
out on the screen.

Is there a setting somewhere that might have gotten changed?

Is there perhaps a 'benign' worm that causes this annoying behavior?

With hindsight, I see that my terminology is faulty.

What happens is that each window shrinks so that only the Title Bar is
showing. To see the document again I must maximize it.

What might happen that would cause a window to 'restore' to just the
size of the Title Bar?

Anecdotal observation (no rigorous testing) suggests that this process
may be happining when I send a print job to my LaseJet4L (but not to my
DeskJet882C!)
