Documents Not Available

after 19 XP updates and 1 Office (2002)update, when i try to open a word doc
i get this: Word cannot open this doc template
C:\ProgramFiles\...\A20MSW10.DOT - when i 'x' out of that, the next thing is
"(names the doc i tried to open)" is not available. I can create a doc and
save it, but it won't open it. It reads, sees, my pictures fine, and no
trouble with opening and reading email. The doc are listed on WinExplorer,
and I can transfer them to another computer which does open the doc. I've
done virus scans, and nothing found. Word is not showing up in the start-up
programs/applications running (not loading up?), BUT, i can open a blank doc,
create a doc - so it looks like it is running? Help. (I did this update on
Aug. 11).

ok - TRIED to do this - have Symantec System Works 2002 but antivirus is NOT
installed. I do have the Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition Version 7.60.926
- however I cannot find any 'how-to' or even locate a 'disable' instruction
in their help section. Thanks 'garfield-n-odie' - do you have this 'fix-it'
for me? Anybody? I need to fix this before Thursday 9-1-05. Many thanks to
you all.

If you have Norton Corporate Edition, then you're not a single
user because that is a volume-licensed product, and you should be
able to get help from your company's computer support staff. If
you had an older version of Norton Antivirus installed on the
computer before you got Norton Corporate Edition, then the Office
Plugin from the older version could still be registered in
Windows even if you have uninstalled the older version. Use
Windows Explorer to search for a file named OFFICEAV.DLL on the
hard drive (include system and hidden files/folders in your
search options). If you find it, note the folder where it is
located, and use the "regsvr32 /u" method described in KB329820
to unregister the DLL.
