Documents open blank when there should be work there!?

A user at my company is having issues with word.

When you open a document from outlook or even her desktop is comes up back
yet shows that the document is there by the file size and things like
character numbers yet its just a white blank page. The only way to seem to
geet this working is by restarting her machine, then the documents open as
normal, this is obviously unsuitable as each time she needs to open a
document she has to restart.

There is enough memory and HD space - ive given the laptop a clean and its a
2.4ghz duel core with 2gb of ram so its not like its old and struggling, Its
is docked into a station but it also does the same if undocked. Any help
please reply its really annoying and want to get it resolved.

This is usually an AV plug-in problem. Do documents launch Word and open
correctly when double-clicking in Windows Explorer?

If the Outlook documents are saved to a local drive first (documents should
never be opened directly from an email attachment), does it open correctly?
