I have a system that takes up to 2 minutes to load relatively small Microsoft
Office documents (200k-1MB). I have checked the system for viruses and
spyware, it was clean. I defragmented. I ran chkdsk. I tried a repair
install of Office 2003. I even went as far as to disable nearly all
context-menu items. No luck.
The strange thing is that you can load the native application, let's say
Excel, go to Open and then open the document all very quickly--- none of the
delay when opening it from Explorer.
My next line of thought was to maybe do a repair installation of Windows
(because it is bother the user THAT much). Before I do that, does anyone
have any other suggestions?
