Documents randomly switching formatting

There has been a general problem at my company lately. Documents are
randomly switching from left justified to full justified and from single
spacing to 18 pt spacing. This is happening no matter which template the
document is attached to and for many users in many parts of the company.
Stranger still, the document could be "wrong" one day and correct again the
next. HELP ... it's driving us crazy!

I had witnessed the same problem, although it never happened to me. While I
thought it may have something do with the patches that were coming out (what
seemed to me to be fast and furious), I really didn't think that was possible.

Turns out it was/is. What I did to fix the problem was modify the "normal"
style in the problem document to single line spacing and left justified (or
whatever it previously was). This seemed to fixed everything (except if there
were tables in the document). Evidently, one of the causes was related to
clicking the undo button too many times, but if Control+Z was used, it wasn't
an issue.

Since I haven't seen it happen lately, I'm thinking one of the newer patches
fixed it.
