I work for a company that is just beginning to have problems opening
documents in MS Word 2003. As of 1 week ago, we noticed that Word documents
are very slow to open when the document template used to create the document
is not reachable. We receive Word documents from vendors and customers
alike. Updating each document's attached template to Normal.dot does correct
the problem, but the problem is much larger than a few documents. In the
past few days, I have encountered more than 180 documents that are extremely
slow to open due to an unreachable template.
Is there some way to fix this issue throughout the corporation globally?
