documents will not print

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Greetings,
       I get an 'invalid format for short nickname' message from my printer. This occurs wether I'm trying to print a new doc. with 2008 Word, or trying to print an old doc. from my 'migrated' 2004 Word Files. I have a Brothers Al-in-0ne MFC=240C. Fax, scan & copy options all work. Any Ideas?

Printing is controlled by the system (OS X), not Word.

Do you have an up to date driver?

Does printing work from other applications?
