documents will not save or paste

It is either not activated or it is a trial version of Word that has
expired. Was it preinstalled on a new PC? Did you activate it? It sounds
like it is in reduced functionality mode (RFM) which may be for either of
the above reasons.

I have had it working for years and it just stopped. I can now get i
to paste from word doc. to word doc. but not from an e-mail to to
word doc. It just stopped two days ago. The hourglass appears an
then nothing else happens. I go to taks manager and it says tha
microsoft word is not responding. Then I end the task.

thanks for your help

When pasting, try using Edit | Paste Special | Paste as:

I have the exact same problem running Word 2002. It will not past
normally from my e-mail browser. I have done all the updates. It jus
started within that last week or so. I tried the paste special an
that does work so thank you for that suggestion. I am just wonderin
why it happened all of a sudden. Which Microsoft windows update is th
culprit? I am sure microsoft just wants everyone to buy the newes
version so making life difficult as possible until we cave

Right-click on the picture (on the Web page) and choose Save Picture As.
Save it to your hard drive and use Insert | Picture | From File to put it in
Word. This is better, anyway, because then you have the picture saved
separately in case anything happens to the document.

Is the document locked for editing because your trial version has expired?
