Can some one help me figure out how to get into the files saved on an
internet site. There are docx files but when I try to save them they save as
a zip file with a bunch of xml stuff. I need to view the document ASAP. Any
help?/?

The new Office 2007 file format (Office Open xml) is a compressed zip file.
You should be able to open the file using the Open dialog box in Word.

Beth,

I've tried the "open" command from word. It still shows up as a zip file.
I've tried to open one of the xml too... no luck. I"m still working and
reading up on the issue. I'm using Internet explorer as a web browser... Is
this possibly the issue. I also just downloaded the service pack 2 in hopes
there might be some fix...

Any other suggestions?

It's most likely a configuration issue at the web server end.

If you're clicking on the link to the file to open it directly, don't do that.
Instead, right-click and choose to save the file to your local hard drive.

If you download and get a file with a .zip extension, rename the file to give
it a .DOCX or other appropriate extension for the document type.

If it displays as a single .zip file you should be still able to open it. If
you're seeing the document parts of the zip package then you can't. However,
as Steve Rindsberg pointed out, change the file extension.
