Does anyone have a basic human resources database I can grab?

It is hard to find a human resources database to hold personnel information
on each employee, plus handle benefits and deductions. Any help in obtaining
a template which could be adjusted for the situation would be great. Forms,
reports, and queries would follow along too.

Can you be a bit specific about HR database. By that I mean HR as in a job
consultant database or a HR database of an opganisation. To some extent some
things are common to both, and few details differ. I had opportunity to work
on both these type of HR database.

report-to, salary, the usual HR stuff. Then I would add fields as needed.

Yes and Yes to your other questions. The problem with online is there are
plenty of IT applications, not plain databases. Microsoft has a lot of tools
which are Excel and Word, or PowerPoint. Not Access.

For now, I've been fooling around with the sample database, Northwind, that
comes with Access. It has an Employees table, so I used it.

Do you know how to get one field to use another one as input for a lookup in
a table? In other words, I have a "Departments" table with only two fields:
DeptID and Department Description. I want the HR specialist to be able to
choose a department number (it is easy for them to think in dept. numbers
like "100"), then the description field would be tied to the dept. table,
using the deptID (like "100") to lookup "Maintenance," or whatever
corresponds. I've almost gotten it to work in the field definitions, but
haven't learned enough about the configuration yet.
