Microsoft has a great web site filled with free clip art,
photos, sounds, etc. Until recently it was called 'Design
Gallery Live' - Microsoft just changed the name to Office
Online: Clip Art and Media. You can visit that page by
following this link:
http://office.microsoft.com/clipart/default.aspx
In the upper right corner of the page is a search field.
Try typing 'metaphors' in that field and clicking the
green Search arrow. You'll get back pages of results -- I
saw 'time flies', 'jumping through hoops', and 'bookworm'
on the first couple of pages alone. Good luck!
