does aotu caculation cause the issue?

is it possible that automatic calculation in MS Project will cause some
corrupted character issue?

I read a post
(http://masterbehind.blogspot.com/2008/02/ms-project-2007-crazy-error-my-tasks-is.html):
if you add a new resource that already has % complete>0 then
there is still a bug (after SP1) that causes a corrupt assignment. The
symptoms are that the resource cannot access My Tasks.
The following SQL will highlight which assignment is corrupted.


in our macros, we set the macros to automatic calculation after import a lot
of data from a csv file (using import map). I found that after calculation,
some field (usually just on field) got bad character like: ୀୀ
8à ¡à ¢6à­€6


in my earlier, someone told me there is a XML serializing issues in Project
2007, wondering whether they have some connection...

we then set it manual calculation and looks like no bad characters, but not
sure if it is the issue since the bad character issue happens occasionally.

It doesn't sound likely that it is the cause, but turning it off and then on
again when done would not be a bad thing.

maybe you are right.
I find most of the fields got corrupted are customized fields.
looks like such fields stay untouched by the scheduling of Project,
so what I have suspect seems not a cause indeed

the problem is very frustrating.

we have tested import/export map in Project,
we have tested the function to send/receive data to/from the server

do you have any idea what else we have to test??
