Does AutoArchive only run when the client is opened?

John

We have recently converted to Exchange/Outlook, from
Novell, and I'm trying to determine whether the user has
to actually open the OUTLOOK client for the AutoArchive to
run (and not WEBMAIL) assuming all the settings are
correct. (We could test and wait a day to check each
setting, but wondered if I can get a quicker response from
this newsgroup.)
From what I've read in the KB, it appears this is true,
but I want to confirm this with what others have
experienced.

Yes, Outlook needs to be open for Auto Archive to take place. When the
client is closed, there is no connectivity between Outlook and your mailbox,
so there can be no archiving.
