Does F9 update only the currect worksheet in Excel 2003?

I think I've observed that in Excel 2000, when you press F9, only the current
worksheet updates. But in 2003, when you press F9, every worksheet opened up
by Excel updates. Is this F9 issue correct? How can I only update the current
worksheet in Excel 2003 (if what I observed is correct)?
