Yes and No.
If you are publishing to a Unix server there may be a limit of about 35
images, depending on the server.
On Windows servers there is no limit, except too many images will make
the page painfully slow to download.
In either case, if any users are using dial up access to the site, then
around 20 images (60-90KB of thumbnails) seems a practical limit.
