I am trying to use IRM on a single user machine. IRM function does not
appear. Can someone tell me why?

Because IRM relies on Microsoft Windows Rights Management Service (RMS)
technology in Microsoft Windows Server 2003.

Is there a way to protect a document like IRM as a single user?
I wish to create a document that cannot be changed or saved. Is this possible?

Hi Lee

No, it's not possible. The best you can do is to create a PDF from your
document. If you don't have Acrobat or another PDF maker, there are several
free ones available. My current favourite is PrimoPDF, which you can
download from their website for free. Its new version has some basic
security mechanisms available.

However, in the end, if you send a document to someone, even as a PDF, they
can always re-create it from scratch. There's no way to protect your
document completely.

Hope this helps.
