Does Microsoft ever Read this or respond to support Requests

I've made 2 requests for help here on Office 2003 update problems and 2
through the error reporting system on the Microsoft Update page and have yet
to receive any real help. Is this just a lost cause?

This is a peer to peer support NG. I find no messages from you (Ken Schoenbergover) over the last 5 days. Care to repost?

You will find that the support offered in these NGs is excellent - if you provide information.

To add to what mrtee said, MS does browse the groups and when the MVPs
(http://mvp.support.microsoft.com) see issues that seem to affect many
people, we bring it to the attention of the right people. As a result, they
are aware of some problems with the update.

I don't recall seeing your earlier post, so if you could repost the problem
and include to suite you are using, we may be able to help.

Diane,
I first posted on 12/16 and then responded to your response. I then reposted
the question a few days later. I understand that these are mostly peer to
peer groups and don't want to spam my questions, but I'd also like an
answer.

Thanks,
Ken

Yes, I am showing all files and folders. Office was installed from CD as was
Front Page. I have thoroughly searched both CDs and my HD for that file with
no luck. Is it on any of the CDs you have?

Are you showing all hidden files and folders in windows explorer? How was
office installed originally - from cd or network?

Anyone know a solution to this problem?

Tried to install the Outlook Junk Mail update through Office Update and it
just runs and then says. Install Unsucessful with no error message.

I then downloaded the update and tried to install and it says insert the
office disk you installed from and find L2561403.cab. I did this and it
couldn't find it. I then searched that CD and my FrontPage 2003 CD and that
file does not exist on either. I even tried my Office XP CD (which I
upgraded from) and had no luck.

I tried a repair and reinstall on Office 2003 and no luck

How do I get this file? Between the SBS 2003 Sharepoint install nightmare
and this I'm ready to toss all MS products out of the office.

We buy the software legally and it just seems harder and harder and more and
more time consuming to get anything done.

Please tell me how I can install this update and get the needed files. I
very much appreciate this forum and the work the MVPs do so please don't
take my frustration personally :)

Ah that one - we see some issues with missing files but this one is not
typical of those errors.

Which suite do you have installed? I.e.: OEM, Student & teachers,
professional, enterprise, msdn, action pack, SBS's Outlook etc.

K

Ken Schoenberg

It's the students and teachers version of Office.

My money was on that one... it's the only one we have reports of problems
updating. <g>

With the other problems, running the file locally worked - I'll see if
anyone has other suggestions to try.
