Does Microsoft Office 2007 English work on OS in Italian?

I am unsure if I can buy the Office 2007 package in English and use it on my
Windows Vista which is in Italian. I remember having compatibility problems
when using Windows XP and trying to install the Office version of another
language on it. Does anyone have a clear response on this one please?

I have Vista Business Edition--English(US) Office 2007--English(US) plus the
German Language Pack downloaded from the Office web site. If I switch the
Office user interface language to German this is supposed to be "exactly"
the same as a German copy of Office, and it works well, except that I don't
know all the German computer lingo yet. This isn't exactly what you are
looking for, but it may instill some confidence.

If you are in Italy and you want the English version of Office, but the
Italian version is easier to get, you could conceivably install the English
Language Pack from here.

What exactly attracts you to the English version of Office, proofing tools,
user interface, price, availability?
