does MS Project Pro 2007 have a time out?

We have a user who edited a project schedule using MS Project Pro 2007
(SP1),locked his computer & left for a meeting. He did not save the changes
but did not close the application either.Upon returning,he hit the save
button but Project Pro gave him an error saying "the changes could not be
saved.Contact the administrator" .So he basically lost all the changes. Is
there a best practice as to how to handle this kind of scenario?Saving
changes at every point might be the obvious but we just want to make sure
we're not missing something(application time out etc.?!).Appreciate any
thoughts.Thanks!

If nothing else, a good lesson for the user. This type of behavior is never
advisable, even when working strictly local. Of course, there are those who
insist on believing that workstations, servers and networks never break.
Perhaps they're spoiled by the high reliability of current technologies.
