does office 2007 update from office 2003 seamlessly?

Hi Mick,

I guess you'd have to define seamlessly :) The upgrade usually goes fairly smooth, but there a gazillion possible variants with
add-ins, customizations, etc and even the possibility that the existing version may be partially broken to say exactly how things
will go.

You don't need to remove the prior Office versions before installing Office 2007, but it may be useful to try to run a
repair/reinstall of Office 2003 from Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control panel then restart the PC prior to upgrading, just
to be sure everything is really functioning smoothly in the 'innards'.

As with any significant change to your computer, always back up your files before starting, just in case. When running Office
setup, use the 'custom' installation choice to see and chose what features and options best suit you and the way you want Office to
be installed.

I just loaded the Office 2007 upgrade today with no problems at all and absolutely LOVE it!! WORD, Outlook, Excel, etc., etc. look great and finally do things that I've been saying for years, "It' should be doing this and that" and finally does.

However, tonight, I received some windows update notifications for Office 2003 for each of the program (WORD, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Then there were 2 for the Office 2007 programs. I ran the 2007 updates but I'm not sure if I should run the 2003 updates?

Does anyone know if I run them, will it mess anything up? They won't go away until I run them. I can "hide" them but would like them deleted.

Anyone run into this? Thanks.

Do you still have Office 2003 programs on your computer? Check in Add/Remove programs.
