Does Office 95 Professional work properly on Windows 98? Access 95 in
particular.

I have a database with 10 years worth of records (thousands). It was
created with Microsoft Office 95. It still works fine, but the pc is
looking old (Pentium 75mhz). It had glitches when I attempted to
convert it to Access 97 years ago, so we stuck with using a Win95
system with Office 95.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't install Office 95 Pro on a Windows
98 system?

It's a real important database, so I don't want to run any problems
trying to run Acess 95 under Windows 98. Years ago it seemed people
mentioned Access may work more directly with the OS than other the
other office programs.

I know we could have a programmer convert the tables from this
database to a new version of Access, but we don't really want to spend
the money or make a new project. Things work fine for now, but i've
got a few newer machines laying around i'd like to take advantage of.

You state yr sys is looking old but apparently are contemplating 'upgrading'
to another old sys, win98.
Assuming you have a win98 sys, and yr db is critical, it is often advised to
run in parallel whilst any gliches are ironed out.
I have upgraded a Access97 to Access2K a db containing a mass of code, and I
have to say it was reasonably easy, and I'm not a programmer
