Does Officexp mess up my WINME?

I have winme... going to office updates, I am told I need updates to my
office xp. I shouldn't have any xp products on my winme desktop. Is there a
mistake here or do I have some free office xp products? HOw do I find if I
have win xp programs on my WIN ME if it is harmful, I'd like to remove them.

Look in Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs. Do you have
any "2002" series Microsoft products installed? Do you have
Microsoft Works Suite 2002 or later installed?

Do I need all this and can I get rid of anything. I don't know what have
is.. I need excel viewer, IE, encyclopedia, OE, picture it, word and works as
far as I know.. any idea? At the office update it tells me to udpdat e some
xp office products. But I never licensed any office products but did download
the beta office in 2002 or so year. never activated them except for microsoft
office tools which I never installed.
Is thee away to tell if I have win xp products or other win version
non-compatible with my win me operating system? My system runs sluggish..

hello again, I just realized in add/remove programs i not only have MS
outlook express 6, but I also have outlook express Q887797 - is this a
correct update or program for me> doesn't seem so... and my OE is acting
up..(doesn't show the signature in emails for example). thanks

It is the Word 2002 (Office XP edition of Word) that is asking for the
update. When you get the prompt to install the SP for Office XP, ensure you
have the CD with Word 2002 handy to insert when prompted.
