Does Outlook XP match 2000 w.r.t. 'marking as read' only if an it.

Before I upgraded to Outlook 2003 on XP, my OL2000 on W2K allowed me to
scroll through messages in my inbox and display a preview in the Preview
Pane, WITHOUT each one being marked as "read". However, if I used the space
bar to read the full text of a message in the preview pane, the next space
bar would advance the selection to the next message and mark the previous one
as read. This is a great feature, but I can't seem to find the config choice
in the OL2003/XP menus. Is it still supported?
