Does PP 2003 offer a way to add music to a slide show of photos?

I have created slideshows of photographs to be used at a Graduation ceremony,
with accompanying music. The music accompanies the whole show, not each
individual slides. There are 3 transition points were a new song begins and
needs to start at a particular slide. For the last one, the CD of music was
played along side but I would like it all on one CD to play synchronized
automatically.

Does Powerpoint 2003 (or earlier versions) offer a way to do this, or with
additional software perhaps?

Also consider using PhotoStory instead:

It offers much better control for doing this.
