does PPT XP fade sound??

I am wondering if after I have inserted and audio file, and I don't want to
play it to the end. I have ended it just fine in the middle of the song but
it is always so abrupt. Is there a feature or a way that I am missing to
"fade to out" ---- fade it when it is stopping?? I haven't found anything
but I could be missing something simple.. If this isn't clear let me know..

If you want to cut a song in half...and reduce the need
for memory as well...import the song into "moviemaker" and
you can treat your music like a video and edit. You
can "crop" the music many times and fade the sound as well.
Then import this edited music as a movie...only the music
is played...there is no movie.
