Does Word take advantage of both processors?

Does a dual processor G5 really take advantage of Word or other programs
in Office? It just seems that at times it really lags. Is this a memory
issue? I am running Tiger, with 2 2.7 ghz processors and 1.5 gigs of ram.

Or does it just use 1 of the processors?

Hi Mike-

Word is not written to address multiple microprocessors. Typically
higher demand software such as graphic design & 3D modeling software
benefit from the dualies. The OS may direct some instruction through
one processor or the other when using Word, but that isn't the same
thing.

If you are experiencing _serious_ lags, it is most likely due to font,
permissions, or cache issues. Make sure you have the latest updates for
OS X & Office.
