Domain logon required 2nd time when I try to view mail in Outlook2003/WinXP-SP2

WinXP SP2 did not fix the following problem:

I am prompted for domain user name and password a second
and sometimes a third time even though I had logged on to
the SBS domain. This happens when I try to get my e-mail
messages with my client's Outlook 2003 / WinXP SP2 System
where these messages are stored on SBS Exchange. This
dows NOT happen with my WinXP or WinXP SP2 / Outlook 2000
client systems

Knowledge Base Article #820863 did not provide a fix for
my computer.

Couple of thoughts...

1) Check the event logs to see if the machine has lost its trust
relationship. (Windows XP always logs the user with cached credentials and
doesn't throw errors when the trust relationship has failed.)

2) Have you tried a new mail profile or verified that the GC that Exchange
is referring clients to is in good working order?

3) What version of Exchange is the shop running? The reason that I ask is
that Exchange 2003 SP1 changes the way RPC/HTTP works. If you are running
in RPC/HTTP mode, then keep in mind that Exchange 2003 always proxies the
connection to the GC. If the RPC proxy isn't configured to pass the DS
information to Exchange, you will end up in a split state. (RPC/HTTP to
Information store and TCP/IP to GC [maybe]).
