doNotUseIndentAsNumberingTabStop - WordML & RTF setting

David Thielen

Hi;

Going from memory (maybe I remember wrong - could not find it in the
thread) I think you said doNotUseIndentAsNumberingTabStop is true for
WordML & RTF. However, we are finding that it needs to be handled as
false, that WordML and RTF do always create that virtual tab stop.

I have an example file if needed. What does your documentation say on
this?

thanks - dave

Never mind - found my note -

in RTF/DOC/WordML the virtual hanging indent tab stop is used - if and
only if - there are no tab stops set in the list, paragraph, or styles
(list/paragraph style).

Me again.

On looking some more we find it is using the virtual tab stop when the
paragraph and list both have a tab. They both have a single tab set to
720. Is it possible that if Word thinks it is a single default tab,
then it does use it?

thanks - dave

Hello Dave,
On looking some more we find it is using the virtual tab stop when
the paragraph and list both have a tab. They both have a single tab
set to 720. Is it possible that if Word thinks it is a single default tab,
then it does use it?

If you open the document in Word 2003, do you see a tab stop marked at the
position of the virtual tab stop?

I did a local test as the this:
I set the list tab as w:val=list, w:pos=964
I set the para tab as w:val=left, w:pos=964
The list's indention is set as: w:left=780, w:hanging=420

When I open this word 2003 xml in Word 2003, the virtual hanging tab is not
used. The text in the list starts from 964.

Dave, would you send your test to my mailbox: (e-mail address removed)? I will
look into it and find out the reason.

Thanks
