Don't check default printer at Word startup & crash if not found

Word 97, 2000 and 2003 all check the default printer at startup and Word
crashes if there is any problem. This looks like it only occurs if the
printer is on the network. Excel, Access etc don't check the printer until
you want to print something by which time the network has sorted itself out
so they don't crash.
