Don't Check Spelling

Using Word 2003

Let's say that I want to send an e-mail in Spanish. When I go to send it,
the spell check thinks that every word is misspelled. What I did, before I
sent the message was - I went to Tools > Options > Spelling and shut off
"Always suggest replacements"... and "Always check spelling"...

The problem with this method is that I had to turn all of that bak on after
I send the message. Is there an easier way to do this?

Thanks, Karen

What version of Outlook? If 2007, then when composing a new message, drop
down th Set Language list and click on Spanish. You must either have a blank
message body, or select all of the text in the body.

I earlier versions, when the speller starts and posts the dialog for the
first error, there is an Options button that allows you to set the language.

Now if you have Spanish proofing tools installed (they come with Office as
standard, but are not installed unless you select them), then you message
will be spell-checked in Spanish. If you don't have such tools, you might get
a message about a missing spelling dictionary; if you dismiss it, the message
is not spell-checked. Dismissing this message is easier than unsetting and
resetting spelling options.
